Interventional Pain Management Medical Assistant

SynapseTBI provides specialized diagnostic and treatment services for patients with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Mild Traumatic Brain Injury (mTBI), and Post-Concussion Syndrome. We offer neurological consultations, diagnostic evaluations, individualized treatment planning, neuro-rehabilitation coordination, and multidisciplinary care to support patients throughout their recovery journey.
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and patient-focused Medical Assistant to join our Houston facility and support our interventional pain management team. This role will assist the physician with patient care, procedures, clinical documentation, and day-to-day operations while ensuring patients receive a professional and comfortable experience. Experience in interventional pain management is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for physician evaluations and interventional pain procedures
- Assist the physician during examinations and procedures
- Obtain and document patient medical history, medications, symptoms, and vital signs
- Prepare treatment rooms, supplies, and equipment for procedures
- Assist with patient positioning and preparation before, during, and after procedures
- Monitor patients before and after procedures and communicate any concerns to the clinical team
- Provide patients with instructions regarding procedures, medications, and follow-up care as directed by the physician
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the EMR
- Coordinate patient flow and assist with scheduling and follow-up as needed
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety of clinical areas
- Ensure supplies and equipment are properly stocked and maintained
- Follow all clinical protocols, safety requirements, and regulatory standards
- Support the physician and clinical team with additional administrative and patient-care responsibilities as needed
Qualifications
- Previous Medical Assistant experience required
- Interventional pain management experience strongly preferred
- Experience assisting with medical procedures preferred
- Strong understanding of clinical workflows and patient care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and professional approach to patient care
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
- EMR experience preferred
- CPR/BLS certification preferred
- Medical Assistant certification preferred
